The people that came up with petition remind me of a spoiled 6 year old that doesn't get his way. Why not rename one of the brothels in Nevada the "Bill Clinton House of Ill Repute" for all the stuff he did but oops I forgot he is a liberal democrat so he gets a free ride.

The guy before President Bush was having oral sex and God knows what else or with how many other interns in the Oval Office, but that's OK with the naive whackos out there. I heard that they wanted to fumigate the entire White House after the clintons left.

I don't see anybody here defending Clinton's extra-marital affair.

Who gave Clinton a "free ride"? He was impeached for crying out loud, because he lied about consensual sex with someone other than his wife! If that's a free ride to Republicans than this is a free ride for Bush, by Democrats and the rest of America who had to suffer the disgrace that this President has been.

I'm a Republican and I think it makes perfect sense. Just not the way they mean it.
Just like any good sewage plant doesn't make sewage - it just puts up with and cleans up other peoples c.... and for the past 8 years that's what George Bush has been doing putting up with the liberal Democratic s.... and trying to clean up their messes.

I agree, and republicans should repay the country all the money that GW has wasted on his war. Sounds fair.

Sadamm was easily under control due to sanctions including "no-fly zones". By starting his war your boy gave the real terrorists exactly what they wanted and even more.

What Saddam ignored was the cowboy's "get out of town in 24 hours or we're commin in after ya". Boy that has worked out real well! Now instead of an Iraq government that is a threat to Iran, we have one that isn't.

Clinton was at least smart enough NOT to go to war without proof! Oh, I forgot...George had all the proof he needed...too bad it was manufactured proof that turned out to be a lie.

How appropriate that a sewage plant would be named after the sludge that is the head (a**) of this administration. It should pass by a landslide. Good work San Franciscans. This will be a more fitting monument to this sludge of a president than any library shed of maybe one book.

If it is important to the voters in San Francisco to waste money and time then let them do it. Please let them set this precedent. Then we can have the Pelosi nuclear waste dump. Why don't you grow up? If the rest of the nation marched to the beat of San Francisco, no one would have power, food, or money to give to the less fortunate. Please keep up the divisive, petty, name calling and polarize the people even more. The sour grapes attitude always made me feel better when I was five.

            Sorry,
Didn't mean to give the wrong impression. I'm more of a Libertarian than a Republican. I probably should have reviewed my comments to insure I get my point across. The point is, in ten or twenty years, people won't get the joke. They will wonder why so much time and effort were expended on symbolic nonsense while nothing concrete was done. If you really care about advancing your agenda and making everyone like you, you need to find a way to get poor white folks to vote your way. At last check, white was still the majority in this nation. You need to convince them that your candidate is not an elitist who looks and talks down on them. You have a great chance with the economy going south and a mediocre opponent. Don't blow it. Of course, the Libertarians have my vote.

PS Here's irony, I actually work in a large sewage plant overseen by a Democratic municipality. They named my plant after the creek it flows into.

Well then R Holbrook, I guess we will have to name the entire US sewage system after President Obama, because he, and his entire clean administration, will have a hell of a lot more sludge and sewage to clean up after this horrible administration than anyone before, and maybe even after him, including nixon.

It's funny....this site instructs us that "Discussions on Newsvine typically involve the thoughtful exchange of ideas and are generally marked with respect and goodwill" The topic about renaming a sewage plant in San Fran is precisely "the" example of disrespect and ill will.

San Francisco makes it readily clear to everyone why where they live is called "The land of fruits and nuts!" What a waste of time and energy. They should be focusing on how their so called "bellwether" state can turn around their slowing economy and and debt ridden government. If they're the trendsetters, then they should be focusing their attention and efforts on improve things that can positively affect the rest of the nation. Problem is they can't and don't know how. Sadly, their state is "going down the toilet". Probably why they are fixated on sewage. I feel sorry for you SF. I wish you the best though in spite of your sorry selves!

The Dems were in control of our Congress and the White House for the biggest part of forty years. Who was it that made the mess? This whole country is going down the toilet because of the liberal socialist agendas that have bankrupt this country morally and financially.

Once again you fail to state that 80% of the debt our government has run up has come under three Presidents named Reagen, Bush, and Bush...and they had republican congresses for most of their terms.

Bush will be leaving some pretty ugly problems behind. Naming a sewage plant after him is
very childish which is in keeping with the way liberals do things, especially in San Francisco.
One would think San Francisco would try to clean up the sewage that exists in their own city
government. I guess it's always more comfortable to attack someone else's faults, rather
                            than address your own.

The weird people on the streets were just too much!! They try to be as sensational as possible stooping to new lows..... look at the nuts that took communion at a Catholic Church not long ago.
After this we won't so much as even drive through the pit on our way south.... I'll drive a hundred miles to avoid it.

Bush is not done, the next rip off to tax payers is a run on the banks with the 100k FDIC insurance that's never been funded another 2 trillion on the deficit. Just like the S&L's in the late 80's.
